Hi Geraldine

Welcome to the forum, you really won t feel alone with the RA, so much really good advice and understanding from those who really know, especially little things that the professionals arent able to tell us and can make all the difference to every day life, and don t forget to look out for local group meetings in your area, they seem to be springing up all time ThumpUp

I started on Cimziz about five weeks ago, having taken the first three loading doses, and must say its the best I have been in two years since being diagnosed, in the past it was only the steriods keep things moderately at bay, so really hope all goes well for you !

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Geraldine and a huge welcome.

I'm Tracy, 40, single parent of a 16 yr old boy. I was diagnosed feb 2010, on triple therapy and lorry load of painkillers. I have just officially failed on Cimzia, had no side effects tho. I felt great until after the 3rd loading dose, but then things slowly got bad again.

Good luck on Cimzia, we all re-act in/to different treatment, so please don't be dis-heartened when u hear of us who have failed.

Keep posting and I look forward to getting to know you.

Trace xx

Hi Geraldine

Welcome to the forum. A great place to be for support and information; lots of folk, lots of knowledge and a wealth of tried and tested experiences! Glad you have found us and NRAS!

I'm Lyn, married to Mike, we have four 'kidults' Abby 23, Ian and Jake 18, and Louis 16. We live in Thornton Cleveleys in north west Lancashire. I was diagnosed with RA 23 years ago and have since run the gauntlet of medication and had several surgical procedures along the way. Currently on Enbrel (been on Biologics for 8 years), Prednisolone, Methotrexate and Naproxen and a wagon load of pain killers and other bits and pieces! But heyho...

Hope the side effects settle soon and Cimzia is found to be the drug for you. Look forward to getting to know you

Hi Geraldine,

Hi from me too, I'm Lorna I am 52 and had RA for almost 4 years. I am 29 years married to my lovely husband ken, we have 3 grown up daughters the youngest 17 and still at school. It was a roller coaster of emotions at first, I was very ill then but thanks to the triple therapy and a great RA team I am really well now. I just take the minimum of drugs and NO painkillers, so you see there is hope for a turn around, be strong and positive. I truly hope your new drug works for you, I know it's a waiting game but look forward, there is always hope. Keep posting we laugh, cry and have a good moan at times but there is always someone to pick you up again.

Take care Lorna x Smile
